Julian McVay founded McVay Real Estate and Spokane Valley Insulation & Roofing in 1933.

Julian McVay or JD as he was known to his brothers led the company from its founding until 1955. Julian went on to develop land around Loon Lake with his son Dale. Today, McVay Road can still be seen as it turns south from the Loon Lake-Springdale Highway. He was laid to rest in the Loon Lake Cemetary (1905-1971)with the love of his life shown here, Madelyne (1907-87)
